# 15 mechanics League players need to know
## 1. Spacing
Stay *just* outside the opponent's range while keeping them in your range if possible. Walk in their range and, immediately after, walk back outside; this keeps you safe and may bait their skillshots, which opens a window of opportunity for you to trade or poke. You do not need to learn every ability range; just the dangerous ones from the most used champions, such as Zed's W or Ahri's E in midlane.
## 2. Auto-spacing
Click on the enemy champion *when they are looking away* and pre-emptively click back so they cannot do the same.
## 3. Increase your auto-attack range
Walk back after every auto-attack so that your champion does not walk forward while your auto is on cooldown.
## 4. Level up your dodging
Click close to your champion to reduce the distance your mouse has to travel.
## 5. Click more often
More clicking makes your movement more erratic and less predictable.
## 6. Adjusting for height
The Z axis is only visual in League. From river to land, aim lower. From land to river, aim higher.
## 7. Cut angles off
Wait for as much as you can before throwing your skillshots. You can also funnel the enemy in a tight spot, such as the space between the tower and the wall.
## 8. Last hit more easily
The difference in CS between Gold and Challenger players is only 1/min: 6CS/min v 7CS/min.
## 9. Predict tower focus
The closest minion to the tower aggro spot will be focused. This spot is located at the bottom of the tower rod.
## 10. Time the travel time of your auto
If your minion wave is slow pushing, you can walk near the minion, hit stop and auto.
## 11. Focus casters first
They are almost impossible to miss since they are not focused by your minions.
## 12. Left click for panel information
Shaco and Leblanc's clones have no icons under their top left panels. Stealth wards's panels will tell you whose it is.
## 13. Input buffering
Click on a champion using an ability whilel out of range will automatically trigger it when they walk in range, as long as you do not click on something else, except Flash. Flash does not interfere with the buffer.
## 14. Target champions only
Bind it to a comfortable key such as X. You can enable an option to treat it as a toggle.
## 15. Residual vision of wards
Stealth wards that die still give 5 seconds of vision to the enemy. If they are clearing your wards, look at where they go. If you are clearing a ward, feel free to go the opposite way to trick your opponents.
