# Beauty is a proxy for simplicity
Apparently, we all build our own representative model of what a human face should look like. Then, when we see a new face, we instinctively compare it to our human face model: **the closer the new face is, the more beautiful we find it**.
That is why symmetrical faces with few to no imperfections seem the most beautiful. An explanation could be that **==since they deviate less from our model, they are easier to process for our brain==**.
