# Remain humble about what you know > I know that I know nothing. According to Plato, this saying (and its more exact translation "*I neither know nor think I know*") reflected the opinion of his mentor Socrates on knowledge. If you want to be able to learn, you must first recognize your own ignorance. Indeed, if you believe you already know the truth about something, then you will reject all pieces of information which do not corroborate your point of view.
