# The best offense is a good defense, and vice versa As an ADC, when you are ahead, it is often a good idea to buy defensive items such as Guardian Angel, since it will make you more difficult to take down, thus enabling you to remain on the offensive. Your damage output should still be threatening enough thanks to your lead. On the contrary, if you are behind, you cannot afford to itemize defensively, because you will still be weak against other sources of damage and you will not deal any damage yourself. Building full damage will at least enable you to punish enemy mistakes and maybe make a comeback.
